Sister's Get Away

On June 18th I headed up the mountain to meet my sister's, Linda, Eileen, and Connie. My sweet friends let us stay in their cabin in Strawberry. They are so awesome! The weather was wonderful and we had a great time together. We watched a few good movies and then Eileen and I got just a little crazy. We started singing with the Momma Mia songs and were really rocking out! It made us all laugh which is so good for us. We went for a few walks. That was where we found the Knotty tree. We thought it was pretty cool. Linda has a bad knee and couldn't go on the walks or hikes with us. She enjoyed reading and relaxing when we were gone though. Saturday we hiked down the Natural Tonto Bridge that is located between Payson and Pine. It was so much fun. It is beautiful down at the bottom. I am so thankful that I have three wonderful sister's and that we are best of friends. We are so lucky to all get along and enjoy being together. Love you gals!!!!
We even got a back rub from each other.

Eileen and I rocking out to Mama Mia!!! A little crazy, I know...but FUN!

Going down...

Underneath the bridge.

I couldn't believe how beautiful this was. The water would be slow coming down and then it would get fast. It was really cool.

Going back to the top the opposite way.

This is at the bottom of the bridge in one area. It was beautiful!

Leaving the bridge...if you look close on top of the rock, there are people looking down. That's where we started.

We made it!!!

Utah Trip!!!

I went to Utah Wednesday. My flight was an hour late so I didn't get there until 6:30, Utah's time. Heath picked me up on his way home from work. Thanks Heath. We visited the rest of the evening. Ethan had a scout activity and didn't get home until 10:00. I'm always so excited to see Heather, Heath, and the kids! Ethan was excited about his fun day and had to show me his tricks.

Thursday, I took Andrew and Jonah to see the Ice Age movie. We had a fun time together. Tyson had left for a three day scout adventure on Wednesday, so I didn't see him until Sunday morning. We didn't get home from the lake until after 11:00 and he was sound asleep. He did a 12 mile hike and was pretty tired. It was his first big scout activity. What a way to break him in...He's the only twelve year old and Deacon. The older boys were real good to him though he said.
I need to write about Friday. Friday morning we took some of the kids to the store to get some school clothes. Ethan had a track meet that he was in at 5:00 so we went to watch him. He ran the 1600. He is the youngest of his age group. He did really good. Later that evening after we had our pizza night and then we took the rest of the kids to get their clothes. I had a gift certificate to use for them and we let them pick out a few things.
Here's a couple pictures of Ethan at the track meet.

So on to Saturday...Bear Lake is the prettiest lake I have ever seen. It is so blue and sandy! It's shallow for a long way so it's a great place for the kids. We didn't get there until around 2:00 and the beach area was closed. Heather and I walked with the kids about a half a mile carrying all of our stuff. The kids carried stuff too. Heath parked the car and came with what he could carry. It was worth the walk though. When the people next to us left they gave Heath a ride to his van and gave them their pass to drive back in. You can park right on the beach area and set up where you want. Anyway, it is beautiful there. Here's a few pictures from Saturday.

I've added more...

Even if you have already looked at my blog, I have added more posts. They were saved by the title so I could go back and add the pictures when I had time. So, if you're interested scroll down and see what I've added and what I've been doing. I still have my Sister's Outing to post. Maybe tomorrow that will be posted.

4th of July

This year Bailey's family came over and went swimming and had a barbeque. Her sisters, Whitney and Jaimie (and her three kids), her cousin and her kids, her Aunt Chris and some of her grandchildren were all here, and her Grandpa and Grandma. I've known her Grandma for years, way before Bailey was ever born. We had a fun day in the pool!
Ronnie's family was in Show Low and Heather 's family was coming home from Bear Lake. We wished they could have been here with us! Happy 4th of July to all of you.
Just a note...I'm proud to be an American! We live in a great nation and I'm so thankful I was blessed to be born here.
I wished I would have taken a picture of Brody swimming....he was going down the slide and jumping off the diving board. He was swimming all over the place and floating when he needed a breath or to just rest. I will next time when he is over swimming!

Say cheese....

Trying to catch up!!!!

Sorry I keep posting, but I'm trying to catch up on my blog. It's my journal so I'm posting a lot. If you're interested keep scrolling down. I still have more to come. Tomorrow, maybe. Toodle-lou as my dad would say!

Faith's Over nighter!

Faith spent the night last Tuesday with us. She came walking in with her bag and said, "Grandma, I'm spending the night!" I had told her last week that she could and she does not forget. On Wednesday morning we went to the library and read books and then she talked me into checking some out. I stold myself I would never check any out again because the last time I did I forgot about them and had to pay almost $40 in fines. I told Faith I would check them out but they were staying at my house, on the fireplace. She agreed, so I checked them out. I want her to know how important reading is. If a child learns to love to read they will do so much better in school. We had a lot of fun together reading and watching movie we checked out.

Ethan's 9th Birthday

Today is Ethan's 9th birthday. I can't believe how time flies by. I remember going to the hospital during his birth. Heather had a C-section so I didn't get to be in the room when he was born. I was disappointed but I was so excited when I finally got to see him and hold him. Ethan, you are such a special boy. Keep your sweet spirit and keep being such a great example to those you are around. I love you and wish I could be with you on your special day. Have fun at Bear Lake. Happy Birthday! I love you more than the galaxy!!!!!

These pictures were taken at Easter time when their family was down.
