SIDS
At our Rellief Society Meeting tonight the R. S. President told us about an article she read at the Doctors office in a pediatric magazine. It was about Sids (sudden infant death syndrome). It said that if your keep the temperature above 69 degrees, a ceiling fan running, and have the baby sleep on its back it makes the chances really high for them not to have SIDS. It was at Dr. Gutherie's office. I just wanted to post this information because there has been so many sweet little ones born in our family the past few months and in the next few weeks. Also, on Ophra today they talked about dry drownings. You might check out her site. www.oprah.com Just a little info for you young moms that I love!

Thanks for sharing I had heard about the degree thing but totally forgot about that. I learned about dry drowning I think on the new this summer. I had never even heard about it before so I looked it up online. Both are great things to be aware of. Thanks for being such a sweet Aunt and thinking of us :)
Interesting. I wonder what the fan and temperature have to do with it?
I heard the reason babies get SIDS when you don't do those things is because they breathe in more carbon dioxide that they've exhaled. Since their lungs are so tiny, it doesn't take much to hurt them :(.
Hey, just got your comment, I have been a bad blogger lately, but hopefully once I catch up, I'll start to be better. I left your e-mail on Tessa's blog so hopefully in the next couple days she'll get it and send you an invite. Their new baby is the cutest thing ever.
And i'm not sure exactly what we're doing yet when we're done at BYU. We'll probaby move back to AZ and Max will train for a couple months and then we'll see if he'll play in the NFL and if not, we'll probably just stay in Az. I'll keep you updated.
I'm glad all your family is doing good, all your grandkids are so cute! Love ya, keep in touch!
Thank you for that info. I emailed you for the invite so I hope you got it.
